What Causes Recurring Bouts Of Nausea?

Hello! I have been having this issue since I was in High School, and now I am 61 years old. Where suddenly I feel nauseous. I use to throw up, but now I just feel sick. And they are happening more often where they use to happen once in a while. Now they are occurring like today 3 times. In my younger years (from 2-23 years old) I use to rock my self to sleep. So I now I think that is my problem. I have given myself concussions. What do you think is what is going on? Please help!

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are having recurring bouts of nausea. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons like motion sickness , stress , food poisoning and heart attack. There are many other reasons for nausea , but if you are feeling nauseatic for long times then your should consult doctor for proper examination . Doctor will take history and rule out if it is due to side effect of any medicine and check vitals . Doctor may prescribe antiemetic drug along with omeprazole . Doctor may refer you to cardiologist or ENT specialist if the problem will be related with heart or internal ear respectively. You should take plenty of liquids. You should breath in fresh air on frequent basis.
