What Causes Recurring Breathlessness On Exertion?

Hello, I am 73 and in pretty good shape. I exercise most days of the week and finding that I get out of breath much more frequently than ever before. When climbing hills or just walking fast, I have to stop and rest more frequently. What should I do? Do I need to get a stress test?
