What Causes Recurring Burning Sensation And Fatigue Post Angioplasty?

Hi Dr. Andrew - I am 64 years of age. On 17th Nov 2015 I underwent an angioplasty after having experienced burning sensation in my chest, vomiting of Bile/food after brisk walking etc. I do not drink or smoke. the angioplasty was done in Mumbai at the Holy Spirit Hospital and it was successful. An American made stent was placed where my artery was blocked 95%. I did have another two blocks 50 and 40% at the lower end of my heart - but the Surgeon did not touch them saying they can be medically managed. After 6 months, I am getting the burning sensation back, have tiredness when I walk. Could it be that my stenting has gone wrong or a new blockage has developed. Unlike other Indians, I am very particular about my diet. No oils, no fried stuff. More Greenies, fruits and grilled food. I would be grateful for your guidance. my email is YYYY@YYYY Gratefully yours/ Alphonso D souza, Dubai

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Fatigue post angioplasty may indicate narrowing of the artery in which stenting has been done via stent atherosclerosis or narrowing of the other vessel which is not being opened with stent or which was previously normal. A recheck angiography is must for this case as definite diagnosis and management is required precisely.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
