What Causes Recurring Cough With Burning Sensation In Chest?
I caught a sinus infection on around April 2nd. Got worse and worse until about April 9th when I got anti-biotics for it. The discolored flem cleared up but the cough has continued. And over the last four or five days the cough causes a burning sensation in the middle of my chest. Should I go back to the doctor?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of recurring cough with burning sensation in chest which is a sign of respiratory tract infection along with pulmonary wheezing. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take short course of antibiotics such as Amoxicillin or azithromycin for 5-7 days along with Antihistamine such as Chlorpheniramine. You should use throat lozenges and go rinses with warm saline water. Take diet rich in vitamin B12. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. Get chest X-ray done and start treatment after proper diagnosis. Visit cardiologist once as well and get ECG done. You should use room humidifier and vapor rub that will give benefits to you. Steam inhalation is very effective but you have to be very careful while taking it.
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
