Hi doctor can u pls help me with this situation I am 30 years old I don t have a child and I don t know what is like to be pregnant I have a breast problem every now and then my breasts pains a lot straight to nipples and its a deep pain and sometimes itching but I do get my period but not normal what could be the course of that please doctor?
Irregular periods can have different causes such as:(a) emotional stress or illness (b) abnormal levels of thyroid hormone (c)physical illness (d)high levels of the prolactin hormone (e)side effect of medication (f)polycystic ovarian syndrome (g)inadequate diet
To determine the cause of the irregular periods, you would need to see your doctor for assessment which would include physical examination, blood tests (for the thyroid, prolactin and polycystic ovarian syndrome) and imaging such as an ultrasound.
In terms of the breast, you should also consider imaging of the breasts as well to rule out a structural cause of the pain. The hormonal blood tests would help with determining the cause of this as well.
Itching may be due to irritation of the skin in the area. An antihistamine may help.
I hope this helps
