What Causes Recurring Diarrhea And Vomiting In A Child?

My son has had diarreah, couple days ago then seemed fine for a day or two. Today, he had diarreah again and is vomiting. The vomit has pinkish red color to it. He said he had strawberry milk at lunch and it didn t taste too good. I was at work when he came home from School but my husband was working from home. My son didn t throw up until 6:30pm the first time and just now the 2nd time. Web MD symptom checker said I should seek emergency help.

As you mentioned that your son had diarrhea few days ago but that cured .
Now he is again having diarrhea as well as vomiting but he developed these symptoms after strawberry milk , the taste was not good i.e. may be spurious or low grade contamination .
So first of all treat is as symptomatic , if there is severe vomiting and diarrhea ( >4-5 times ) ,consult ER but if 1-2 times then there is no need of any panic .
Sometimes summer may be the reason of these symptoms while other times mild degree ( contaminated ) causes such symptoms .
Take strict care about food items .
Since still diarrhea present then get in stool culture .
Banana ( bulky food ) also help .
