Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Recurring Diarrhea With Brown Mucus And Bloating?
I have been on a Daniel Fast for 15 days and started having some diarrhea and a lot of flatulence with brown mucus coming out. It lasted 2 days. So, I ate whole grains and breads to stop the diarrhea and cramping. The next day, I was constipated. I would have small hard light brown bowel movements throughout the day. I ate more fruits and veggies to get my bowel movements back to normal. This morning, I took 2 Ducolax with lots of water and I had a good bowel movement. But have been having gas again and they were normal until a few minutes ago. I Passed has and the little brown mucus is back. Does that mean that something is wrong with my intestines or colon? Does that mean something bad is going on with my digestive system and my intestines?
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, this could be intestinal infection and chances of protozoa infection would be very likely, if I would be treating physician of such case then I would treat this case with the medicines given bellow 1) Tab Metronidazole 400 mg twice in day for five days stop taking laxative or anything else, take care for hydration, hope this information helps, have a nice day.
