Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a healthy 50 y.o. male. Active and in pretty good health (hockey 4 hrs per week). I spent a week swimming in the ocean (Hawaii) 2 months ago and noticed that all 10 toe nails turned orange. I had no trauma to my feet and there was no itching or pain. The colour returned to normal (orange pretty much the whole time I was there but they eventually returned to normal colour once home). Now, 2 months later, I was at a lake/cottage here in Ontario and I notice that all 10 toe nails have AGAIN turned orange?!? No trauma. No itchiness. No pain. My fingernails are normal in colour. What is causing this?

What Causes Recurring Discoloration Of Toes?
Hi, It could eb a hormonal imbalance. It is better to get your toes examined by a physician as to point out which all tests to undergo. Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Harshita, Ophthalmologist
