What Causes Recurring Episodes Of Extreme Itching In The Body?

Hello Doc, I have been suffering from this chronic (i feel its chronic) allergy of itching that starts with any part of a body and that area becomes reddish and it s that strong that I can t even hold on. For a long time i was surviving on CTZ i.e. cetirizine, till i visited my current doctor Mr. Punamia and he gave me this med called Teczine. This med gives relief but only for 24hr then it starts again, now it s been more that 4 months and situation is same, I cannot survive without this med. As per doc i need to continue this for a long time till my body forgets this allergy. Can u plz suggest if I am on a right track or do I need to go for a second opinion.

Hello concerned patient,please dont worry.
allergies and itching of similar nature are a routine case in most clinics.
first of all the history of your illness is minimally described, but from my experience let me put all the things you can do.
i am sorry to say teczine is levocetrizine which is an active variant and a newer generation of antihistamine cetrizine which you previously took.

Some things such as heat, cold, menstrual periods(if you are a female), stress, or emotion may make the rash flare up worse than usual.
In many cases the cause may be an autoimmune problem. Autoimmune means that our own immune system causes damage to some of our body's own cells.please see if your blood relatives has any similar history also.

An allergy to a food, medicine can also cause similar symptoms and i have seen couple of patients with helicobacter pylori (a bacteria seen in stomach) infection causing similar symptoms

i would suggest you to stick with teczine or if its severe teczine-m(which also has montelukast),have a blood test,Try avoiding tight clothes, avoid extremes of temperature and emotions.
Calamine lotion can also help. A tepid bath or shower may relieve the itch before bedtime and help you to sleep.

dont worry about it,it should go away in a while. you will have to go for allergy tests or h.pylori tests if it doesnt go away after 6 months.

Hope i could be of assistance and clarified your doubts.good day
