What Causes Recurring Episodes Of Pain In Chest And Back With Numbness In Arm?

I have been having slight chest pains that flow into my back and my left arm begins to go numb. I just got out of the hospital where they conducted a heart cath. and ultra sound of the arteries in both legs. They said my heart is good to go and no blockages were found in my legs. They discharged me but I have had at least 5 episodes of this manner. Any ideas what could be going on.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, various possibilities can be considered in this regard as
- stress related
- spinal cord issues with some nerve compression
- chest wall muscle or cartilage issues
- pancreas conditions

In a nut shell, non cardiac causes of referred pain syndrome have to be evaluated in further details for the same.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
