Hello,

You have been experiencing recurring episodes of vertigo. You are already on medications. You are suggested to get your ears examined by an ENT. If you have symptoms of tinnitus you need to be treated. When you have episodes of dizziness and the room feels like its spinning for hours it may be due indicative of Meniere’s disease.

You are already having neck spasms, get clinically examined by an ENT / Orthopedics. Get the required investigations done. Misalignments in the C1 vertebrae may be the cause of dizziness, you will be given conservative treatment and physiotherapy for a few months will reduce the symptoms comparatively. Any neck injury, whiplash in the past can trigger vertigo, get your cervical vertebra treated.

Be slow to get up from the bed in the morning and sit on the edge of the bed for a moment before standing. Avoid leaning forward to pick things up or tipping your head far back to look up. BPPV responds to treatment with physical therapy and conservative treatment. Only in rare cases some patients with severe BPPV may need surgery.

Avoid taking food that may trigger the symptoms like old cheeses, coffee, processed meats, chocolate, MSG and alcoholic beverages like red wine and beer. You can take food rich in vitamin D, calcium, magnesium. Take yogurt. These dietary changes will help to prevent recurrence of symptoms. Avoid stress (physical and emotional) as it may affect the part of your inner ear that controls balance.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
