My son is 22, and has a reconstructed cleft lip/palate. A few days ago he got a heavy nosebleed that would not stop for 12 hours, when we finally went to the ER, where they unsuccessfully tried to cauterize it, then he ended up needed a rhino rocket... so uncomfortable! I have 2 questions: could the nosebleed be related to his cleft, and are there any special concerns when using a rhino rocket on a person who has had a repaired cleft? Also, we need to see an ENT to have it removed... would any ENT be appropriate, or should we try to see an ENT with cleft experience?
