Hi My son is 3 yrs. having fever from last 3 days.. fever is coming with meftal -P for 5 hrs or so and coming back again.. the Last dosage (5mL)was given to him at 4 am today, fever is reduced and has not come back yet.. he is having heavy cold.. i have given him sinearest AF (2.5 mL dosage ) twice yesterday.. cold does not seems to be controlled. PLs advise. should i give me meftal - P dosage now. and continue for sinearest only
Thanks for asking HCM. Dear patient I understand your concern. Fever in child less than 5 years should not be ignored and should consult the doctor as soon as possible. Your child must have got viral fever with upper or lower respiratory tract infection. crocin or acetaminophen can be given safely every 4 hour. If fever is subsided you can stop meftal-P and consult your Doctor for further treatment who might order chest x-ray to rule out any other cause. To releive congestion at night one can use normal saline to be put in both the nostrils before bed and keep humidifier or vapourisor at night. Hope this will help. Thanks.
