What Causes Recurring Fever And Cough In An Infant?
Respected Doctor, My baby 16 weeks old. She s getting fever 99.4 etc early in the morning around 3 AM. We give her baby gesic and she will be fine the whole day. This is happening from the past 3 weeks Doctor checked blood test and it s normal. Urine test showed some pus cells and she was given Taxim O. After that also she is still getting fever. Latest urine report showed 2-3 pus cells. Doctor said it s okay. Now if we are not giving baby gesic from 2days and fever goes to 100.5 and slowly comes to normal in 3 hours. For vomiting she s given domstol for 10 days .Other than fever in early morning she s active the whole day. Her weight is 5.82 from the past one month. As she reduced a little in between due to not feeding and vomiting. She gained back the normal weight. She is mostly on top feed. And she has cough too. What could be the reason for early morning fever continuosly from the past 3 weeks?
Understanding your concern. As per your query your baby has recurring fever and cough which is due to chest infection and it could be due to throat infection as well. It seems you have wheeze associated lower respiratory tract infection. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit pediatrician once and get it examined completely like throat swab test a, blood test and get X-ray chest done. Doctor may prescribe food supplement to boost immunity .Start treatment after proper examination. Start treatment after proper diagnosis is made out. Till then take proper course of antibiotics to you. Take steam inhalation , which will be very helpful. Avoid giving child any cold carbonated beverages. Avoid giving any outside food to child.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
