Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Recurring Grayish Deposit On The Penile Head?
I experience a grayish build up around the head of the penis whenever I pull back the foreskin to clean it. The build up wipes right off as if it was never there. However, it reappears every time I pull back the foreskin for a cleaning. Do you have any clue as to what it could be? I ve been celibate for nearly 3 years and believe it s nothing spread by sexual intimacy.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. Greyish deposit on penile head is most likely Smegma. That is a normal accumulation of secretions. Avoid cleaning that with soap. You can use saline or warm water to clean it. Fungal infections are common in this area. If you find irritation and smelly then it could be fungal infection. In such case using anti fungal ointments like miconazole will be helpful. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
