What Causes Recurring Heart Palpitations?

I am experiencing heart palpitations which cause me to cough. This does not happen at night. I do exercise vigoursly but do not suffer them at that time. I m 62 and in good health. I guess caffeine and stress but sometimes I get dizzy and not sure where this is going. Then it settles. It can be a few minutes to over a couple hours. Not sure where this is going

thanks for writing
in most of the cases palpitations occur without any serious heart problem, but in your case palpitation is associated with dizziness which really sets off an alarm.and yes you are right caffeine and stress can cause palpitations but not dizziness.

if such patient comes in my clinic I will first do an ECG, along with an ear examination(middle ear infections can lead to dizziness with palpitations) further treatment will depend on any findings.

though you may not be having any major issue, doctor consultation is recommended

hope this was helpful, feel free to ask any related question
