What Causes Recurring Hives Like Rashes On Arms And Hands?
Does a scabies rash come and go? Kind of like hives where they appear, disappear and reappear somewhere else? Would only one person be affected or would the whole house have it. I am married with children and I m the only one with this strange rash but it s surface level, not bumpy at all, sometimes it s dotted on strange line other times it s hive like. I haven t gone to the dr yet as it s the weekend. The rash is on my arms and hands benedryl alleviates some of it but not all.
As per your query you have recurring hives like rashes on arms and hands which is due to contact dermatitis and due to environmental factors, heat, cold, pressure and sun exposure. It is the body's response to the trigger factor.
I would suggest you to stay in cool environment. Give cold compresses to hives several times a day to prevent from swelling and itching and take over the counter antihistamine drug like Benadryl. Herbal tea and aloe vera gel are also very helpful. If symptoms still persist the consult dermatologist for proper examination and treatment. Doctor may perform skin test and challenge to find out the trigger factor.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari, Dentist
