Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Recurring Impetigo With Patches On The Face?
I have reoccurring impetigo. I had MRSA culture down and it was negative. Have had 4-5 times since contracting it last September. Head prescribed 3 different antibiotics the last was Cipro. Also use Bactrim ointment along with applying on nasal passages. Went to SF for weekend and somehow contracted it again. At first, just noticed what appeared to be two big bites on neck and by this morning patches were on my face. Yuck!! Am I destined to somehow be more susceptible now??
There sounds to be immune mediated disorder causing recurrent skin lesions. As per my clinical experience, the biopsy of concerned part under local anesthesia is best solution to get the precise diagnosis.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
