What Causes Recurring Itching And Burning Sensation In Skin Around Cancer Surgical Site?

I have itching and burning of skin on one thigh near a skin cancer surgical sight. It is not constant, but comes sometimes at night especially. I had my surgery a year ago and had several follow ups with my medical practictioner. I have another appointment in a month. Should I seek an earlier appointment. There is no visual sign of any skin problem in this area. This surgery was for melenoma, stage 1.

Hello,

It may be due to infection at incision site.

For that you may require complete hemogram, discharge culture after surgeon consultation.

You may require antibiotics after consultation.

For pain you can take tablet acetaminophen.

Do regular dressing.

Maintain proper hygiene

Hope I have answered your query...
Let me know if I can assist you further.
