What Causes Recurring Itching Sensation In Vagina?

For the past two months I have had problems with my vagina, but it was only itchy so I thought maybe is would be a yeast infection so I got the medication to treat a yeast infection but the itch is not going away. The only time it goes away is when I have my period but as soon as I get off a day or two the itch comes right back. I just got of my period today and now I m noticing a weird lump or swelling on one side of my vagina wall and I am unsure of what it may be
