Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Recurring pain on left side of stomach. Every couple of weeks it feels like I was punched at bottom of rib cage. Gassy non solid stool during these times. One night pain so bad it woke me pain was more above left hip that time. At times it feels like gas/ digestive issue and other times just a steady cramp.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of recurring left-sided abdominal pain . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like gastroenteritis , food poisoning , irritable bowel syndrome , lactose intolerance , giardiasis or intestinal Ileus . For now eat light and non spicy , avoid food like seafood and nuts , take antacid after every meal and keep your head elevated while lying down. I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor may order stool test , ultrasound , endoscopy along with that take history . Doctor may prescribe laxative , ornidazole or albendazole along with ranitidine . Take one spoon of honey .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
