General & Family Physician, Dr. Priyanka's Response
Hi,
The left sided chest pain below ribs as per you query seems to be associated with food habits leading to gastritis as it can cause hypersecretion of gastric acid, bloating and air trapping leading to such pain. Avoid spicy, hot and oily foods until symptoms relieve; maintain a regular eating habits and avoid eating 2 hours before bed time. When experiencing such episodes any over the counter antacid can be used. Keep well hydrated 3 to 4 liters if water per day.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thanks.
