Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello... My daughter is having severe lower left abdominal pain. She went to the ER for it a few weeks ago and all they found was a couple small cysts but it does not seem that those are the cause of the pain. The pain comes on fast and lasts for hours. Any suggestions please????
If the cysts are infected or bleeding or inflamed, this can cause pain to occur. She may want to consider seeing her gynecologist for assessment and treatment. Another ultrasound may be done.
He or she may suggest the use of a course of antibiotics along with anti inflammatory pain medication if they are infected and inflamed. If bleeding is noted, treatment would depend on the extent of the bleeding seen. In some cases it resolves on its own but if extensive then additional treatment may be needed.
I hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist your further.
Regards, Dr. Michelle Gibson James
