What Causes Recurring Nausea And Dizziness While On Medication For Hypertension?

My husband has fibromyalgia, hypertension and has anxiety. He s currently on Metoprolol and Diltiezam for his hypertension. For the past few weeks every morning when he wakes up, he is nauseous and dizzy. Some days he feels better after eating. He doesn t eat breakfast because whenever he used to eat breakfast he would get these symptoms and now it s happening every other day. What would you suggest?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello,

From the available description, it appears that there is a need for further evaluation as nausea and vomiting cannot be explained on the basis of current medications/disorders.

I recommend you to visit his doctor for further assessment and management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashok Kumar, Psychiatrist
