Hello, Thank you for contacting me at Ask a Doctor . I will try to answer your question to the best of my ability. It sounds as though you have some mild degenerative disease in the cervical spine. This would account for your symptoms. Degenerative disease can cause pain, numbness, stiffness, and sometimes pain down into the neck, shoulder and arm. If you have any a lot of pain I would suggest taking something simple such as Tylenol. Sometimes seeing a physical therapist can help with these issues and they will teach you some stretches and exercises to perform at home. If the symptoms do not improve with these measures, then I would think about seeing your primary care physician. I hope this information is useful for you.
