General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Possible causes of rib cage pain associated with bloating, nausea, etc is commonly due to injury (pulled muscle, bruised/ broken ribs), lung factors (like pleurisy, costochondritis, fibromyalgia, embolism) or intercostal muscle strain. Sometimes, it can also be due to acid reflux or gastritis. Take antacids & PPI's to get rid of the discomfort due to bloating. Maintain a low BMI & avoid hot spicy food. However, you are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP, get X-ray, if required other imaging tests done. You will be treated according to the severity of the pathology detected causing the symptoms. For relief you can take pain relieving medications, hot - cold compress. Physical therapy & breathing exercises are effective.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
