Hello,
It may be just simple muscle spasm however I cannot rule out a shingle as a cause because of the description of your pain along the left-sided dermatome areas.
Shingle is
herpes zoster that is a viral disease causing a painful, aching and burning sensation.
You may not have any visible
rash initially, then rash comes later over the course in a single, wide stripe either on the left or right side of the body or face.
If this is truly shingle, then you will need to take
antiviral treatment and, depending on the degree of your pain, you may need additional medication such as an oral
steroid or other pain treatment as adjunctive treatment.
If symptoms are worsening and it occurs at nighttime, then I advise you to go to ER for the further assessment. If urgent care or any walk-in clinic is open, then you may go there for the evaluation and appropriate treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
