What Causes Recurring Pain In The Left Ear?

Hello I am concern about my left ear it has been in pain for several weeks now except 2 weeks ago I was hospitalized for asthma for 5 days and was given antibiotics and prednisone I notice my ear wasn't hurting anymore but now am home for a week now and the pain is back again when I put the q tip inside it hurts very bad I have been taking Tylenol for pain and I get relief but then it comes back don't know what to do... Worry

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of recurring pain in the left ear which can occur due to accumulation of ear wax, ear fluid and due to Eustachian tube dysfunction.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to maintain hygiene and avoid pricking it with sharp object. You should maintain ear cleanness and avoid excessive use of mobile. You should visit ENT specialist once and get complete examination done. Doctor may order certain test like audiometry, low and high pitched ringing to rule out conditions like hearing loss, exposure to loud noises and middle ear infection. Doctor may prescribe proper antibiotics course and drug like eperisone.
