What Causes Recurring Pain In Upper Back With Shortness Of Breath?
I have been having left upper back pain with shortness of breath off and on for about 4 months... but starting yesterday, it has yet to go away and it has really gotten worst. It hurts really bad. I couldn t sleep comfortably at all last night. Its very hard for me to breath. Im in so much pain.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Difficulty and shortness of breath are suggestive of some disorder of respiratory tract. These may be symptoms of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) Associated pain can occur due to involvement of pleura which is outer covering of the lungs. Pleural pain can occur due to inflammation of the pleura. I suggest you to consult your physician for clinical assessment of the respiratory tract to find out the cause of difficulty in breathing and associated pain. In the meanwhile, you may use painkillers for relaxed sleep.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
