What Causes Recurring Pain On The Left Side Of The Face?

Hi Doctor, For the past 4 months I had been having recurrent aches on the left side of my face. It is only in this month that I am having this pain continuously for three weeks now. It is a sharp as well as throbbing pain that covers my left temple, back of my left eye, left nostril, jaws and tongue (mostly itchy tongue). I saw a doctor a week back she said it was migraine and gave me meds. I took more than 5 painkillers everyday and also had a CT scan done (awaiting results). I am really scared and could barely do anything, please help me!

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of recurring pain on the left side of the face which seems to be due to nerve related causes as it seems to be due to trigeminal nerve disorder and its infection and it could be due to oral manifestations, migraine and TMJ disorder.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit oral physician once and get complete examination done. Go for blood tests done. Get your CT scan results reviewed.

- Till then do warm saline gargles and maintain hygiene

- Take pain killer Ibuprofen

- Do mouth stretching exercises.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get Well Soon.

Best Wishes,
