What Causes Recurring Pain, Swelling And Stiffness In Feet?

Hi I have notice that my feet have been swelling when I m on my feet for long periods of time. They will begin to ache with a little pain but is uncomfortable and then they will hurt when I walk. My feet feel stiff when I first get up to walk. I have had a badly broken ankle but that has been like 8 yrs ago and this effects both feet not sure if I should be concerned. I have also gained about 20 pounds over the last yr and thought this was the problem. What do you think

Hi..Can understand your concern. As per your query about pain ,swelling and stiffness in your feet can be probably due to arthritis or there is also sometimes pooling of blood due to prolonged standing and may cause swelling and discomfort in legs and feet..Since you haven't mentioned your age its little difficult to rule out the cause..I suggest you to have blood investigation for arthritis factor and an xray to know about the changes going on and to consult a physician or an orthopaedic doctor to have a examination done for proper diagnosis and treatment. You also need to avoid prolonged standing and take rest in between or can move your legs in between to avoid ppoling of blood..I hope the information helps you.Take care.
