What Causes Recurring Palpitations With Shortness Of Breath?

Hi. I have felt weird since last night. In bed I found I had to take a couple of breaths deeply because it almost felt as if I was having a hard time breathing. I slept fine during the night with no issues. As the day went on I have felt my heart fluttering several times and I feel a sensation as if I need to cough (in my chest). I feel slightly dizzy or off as well.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear, I really appreciate your concern. Palpitation and shortness of breath at night can be due to heart disease or asthma. If a person comes with similar complaints to my clinic I would like to ask him/her age, family history of heart disease, history of smoking, history of allergy, any previous report of lipid profile etc. I would suggest him to have an ECG and 2D ECHO. Further management depends on the results of the testing.
Hope my answer has solved your query. Take Care.
Thank you.
