Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Recurring Pins And Needles With Numbness In Legs?
Hi I have been doing some research on the web to try and figure this out but had no luck, When I make my leg get pins and needles(after crossing them) it goes numb but after the numb stage I have a feeling in my leg almost like an orgasm when I touch it and I was just wondering what it is
It is a common problem. When the legs are crossed the blood vessels are compressed, leading to decrease in blood supply to the leg. Crossing the legs also puts pressure on the peroneal nerve. This decrease in blood supply and pressure on the nerve when you cross your legs for a long time can cause tingling and numbness in the leg.
I would recommend to avoid crossing your legs for a long period of time. If the tingling and numbness occurs without crossing your legs, then you will need to see a physician for proper work-up.
I hope this answers your question. Please feel free to ask if you have any other questions. Have a nice day.
Sincerely, Dr. Waqas Hayat
