Hi, I am experiencing pricking sensation in the left side of my head. It occurs every 10min or 15min. It occurs only when i am active.I am confused as to what it could be. Is it connected with ENT specialisation or Neurology Specialisation. I already consulted General doctor and Eye specialist. No Problem in my eyesight. Im having the pricking sensation randomly Can you suggest me as to how to progess. Thanks Dinesh
Pricking sensation in head is mostly a neurological disorder. It is often caused to problem in nerve, known as neuropathy. There are many causes of nerve damage such as idiopathic such as trigeminal neuralgia, diabetes, chronic renal failure, leprosy, vertebral compression, vasculitis, shingles and hypothyroidism etc. Cause needs to be identified. Advice 1. Amitriptyline 10 mg (tablet Tryptomer 10 mg) at bed time for 10 days 2. Tablet Neurobion Forte – one tablet daly per oral for 1 month 3. For specialist treatment, contact neurologist Thanks
