What Causes Recurring Pulsation In Lower Spine?

I feel a pulsing in my lower spine. There is also a nerve sensation that goes along with it. It is intermittent but occurs several times in a minute. I notice it more while sitting or lying. It doesn t really hurt but is uncomfotable. I would rate the pain 1/10. I do not recall doing any activity that caused it. This is my fourth day with this issue.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

There can be many causes of regular pulsation in the lower spine, including muscle spasms, nerve compression, spinal stenosis, spinal cord injury, or an underlying medical condition such as an infection or spinal tumor. I recommend seeing a doctor to get a proper diagnosis and treatment plan. They can perform a physical examination, ask about your symptoms, and possibly order imaging tests such as an MRI to determine the cause of your symptoms.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
