What Causes Recurring Rash Around Eyes In Children?

For the past 3 days, my 11 year old daughter has had a reappearing rash around her eyes and face, and arms. It looks like small welts and red all around them. It is warm and itchy. She doesn t have any other symptoms and has not had any new foods or used new products. What could be causing this rash?

Hi,

In case of your daughter, it does not look like to be food allergy. As it is generally on the exposed parts of body (face and arms), therefore the cause seems to be some atmospheric allergy. Hence in this case, the outdoor activities may be restricted, as possible. Also, if possible, the doors and windows may be kept closed. Body should be covered with appropriate clothes, while going outside. OTC antiallergic like Cetirizine or Loratidine etc., may be used orally for relief of symptoms.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
