What Causes Recurring Rashes On Face And Behind The Ears?
Dr. Rynne, I have been having problems with rashes on my face and behind my ears. My dermatologist tells me I have contact dermatitis but I keep having the same issues with my face only. I have used everything he tells me and my regular doctor told me to use Johnson s baby shampoo on my eye lids but that is working neither. What is wrong with me and the meds say not to use on the face or around the eyes
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of recurring rashes on face and behind the ears. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like contact dermatitis , eczema, dry skin , eczema and erythema nodosum. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to apply cold compresses on rashes , avoid applying any cosmetic product except petroleum jelly , take over the counter antihistamine like benadryl and drink plenty of water . If condition doesn't get well the consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may order tests like blood test , allergy test and skin patch test to confirm the diagnosis. Doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants along with corticosteroid ointment or antibiotics like clindamycin .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
