What Causes Recurring Sensations Of Extreme Heat And Numbness In The Thigh Muscle?

Was standing putting on makeup when my left front thigh muscle experienced an extreme sensation of heat and numbness, length of time for both the first occurrence and second was probably over a minute in duration The intensity and duration were of concern. Have had, in the past, experienced pain in same upper thigh what could be described as a searing hot knife plunged deep into the muscle. Concerns or no?

Hi,

As per your history, it looks you are having early symptoms of sciatic nerve compression. The severe pain in inner side of thigh is usual symptom. You need to consult a neurologist for further treatment and evaluation.

In case the pain is severe and medical help is not available you can take analgesic medication or gabapentin only if you don't have any associated nervous condition or any sort of allergy to it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
