What Causes Recurring Shooting Pain On Left Mastoid?
Yes, please. I have been getting sporadic, contracting, shooting pains on my left mastoid. I may go days without pain, and then get pain that lasts from seconds, to sometimes 10 mins or so. What could this be? It s been going on since mid December. I feel great otherwise. No other symptoms. Thank you.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Sporadic, contracting and shooting pain in mastoid region is due to nerve related disorder. Nerve irritation, nerve compression, nerve infection etc can lead to this kind of pain. I suggest you to consult your orthopedician for clinical assessment of the nerve, nerve conduction study and thus management.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
