What Causes Recurring Sinusitis?

I have been experiencing what feels like a severe sinus infection since October of 2013. I went to the doctor several times and have been told that I show no signs of an infection, though I have gotten sinus infections every winter for a long time. I have been prescribed sinus infection medicine, none of which made any difference. I recently had an allergy test done. The allergist told me to use a nedi not, mucinex, and saline nasal spray. Not only do I not feel any better, but I feel worse than I did before doing those treatments. The pain is becoming unbearable and is interfering with my daily activities. Do you have any idea what may be causing this?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
HI,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
This could be chronic seasonal allergic rhinitis. More information on your symptoms could have been useful to help you out. Like increased frequency of sneezing, watering of eyes, itching.

i recommend the following.
1) Avoid allergens like dust, pollens, cold air.
2) Steam inhalation ventilates and drains the blocked sinuses.
3) Antihistaminic with montelukast
4) Steroid nasal spray
5) analgesics for pain relief.

Hope i have answered your question. If you have any further questions you can write to me on healthcare magic. We are happy to help you.

Regards,
Dr Paparaja S. MBBS, MS
