Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I get a skin rash every Spring and now for the second Fall in a row, I am getting the same rash. It looks like poison ivy. I really do not come in contact with very many plants. However, I did touch a bush last week, but it definitely wasn t a poison ivy plant. Why does this reoccur? Am I touching something I shouldn t? Is there something in my body that is causing this? How can I prevent this?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of recurring skin rashes on the body which is probably due to a viral infection which is lowering down your immunity and could be due to allergic reactions.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you take a combination of the antiviral drug along with anti-inflammatory medications. Apply an ice pack to reduce itchiness and redness. Avoid application of any cosmetics and avoid itching and pricking rashes. Take diet rich in multivitamins and vitamin C. Your symptoms will resolve in 4-5 days. If symptoms keep on persisting visit dermatologist once and get some routine blood investigation and skin patch test done.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
