What Causes Recurring Soreness In Lower Abdomen?

Hello - I have been having a sore lower abdomen almost daily for part of the day but then it may go away. It is sore sometimes on the left side but then extends to the middle right above the pubic area. Sometimes it is very crampy and I do have some bloating issues at times. I have had a CT scan and an ultrasound and they say everything looks just fine but the soreness zaps me of my energy and I just don t feel well even though I still manage to function. When I bend over to do some work or put my socks on where I have to bring my leg up, it is very sore in the middle of my lower abdomen and sometimes I get a lower back ache. When I bend over and crunch my tummy, it is sore for quite some time during the day then and sometimes I will have a break from it for awhile but this has been going on since before last Xmas. It is very uncomfortable and restricts my activities. I am 75 years old and seem to be healthy otherwise. I have tried antiacids and some days I think they seem to help for awhile but the soreness never really goes away completely. Maybe you have some suggestions for me to follow up.

Hi,

It could be a kidney / gall bladder stone but you need a proper examination and investigation to rule out which one it is.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshita, Ophthalmologist
