What Causes Recurring Spasms In Neck And Shoulders With Swollen Glands In Throat?

Last week I experienced sudden neck and shoulder pain on my right side. I went to the ER Bc I started getting a sharp headache just on my right side. I was diagnosed with muscle spasms given a shot of Valium and a prescription for a muscle relaxer and sent home. 3days later my neck and shoulder feel on just a little ache but my upper right back aches and my throat at times feel, like its closing. My glands are swollen my arms get very weak at times.

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have muscle spasm in neck and shoulder and now there is pain and swollen glands in throat . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like poor posture muscle strain , trauma , nerve impingement and cervical spondolysis . The swollen gland in throat probably occur due to sore throat . I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper evaluation . Doctor may order muscle relaxant , calcium supplement along with anti inflammatory . Doctor may also refer you to ENT specialist or cardiologist depending upon the diagnosis . For now do warm saline gargles , stretching exercises of neck and shoulder and start physical therapy of neck and shoulder .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
