What Causes Recurring Spasms In Upper Back And Shoulders Post Lower Back Surgery?

I had lower back surgery in 1986 for a fragmented disc following a car accident. I have had periodic flare ups since that time usually caused by lifting heavy things incorrectly as well as just waking up in the morning with lower back pain that puts me out of commission. Thank goodness it does not happen very frequently. The pain causes muscle spasms in my upper back and shoulders. I ve taken Soma for this and it is very helpful and shortens the duration of the muscle spasms. Since I do not have health insurance is there anyway I can get it prescribed online?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As a first line management you can take analgesics/antispasmodic like aceclofenac/chlorzoxazone for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist you can consult an orthopaedician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
