What Causes Recurring Stabbing Pain In Lower Part Of Sternum?

I am having on and off sharp pains in my lower part of strum that feels like a sword has gone through my chest and out my back, where I also feel the pain. It comes and goes and sometimes lingers for more than an hour. Have had this for two days now and no change in my diet.

hi.

noted history of stabbing pain in lower part of the sternum (epigastric area). what is your age? are there any other associated signs and symptoms such as bloatedness and is it aggravated by fatty food intake? it is best if you consult a doctor for physical examination and clinical evaluation. it may be of gastrointestinal (in cases of acid related diseases) or of gallbladder related pathology in origin. cardiac diseases must also be ruled-out. diagnostics (such as ultrasound of the abdomen, liver function tests, ECG) and management (medical and/or surgical if indications are found) will be directed accordingly.

hope this helps.

good day!!
