What Causes Recurring Stinging Feeling And Numbness On Thigh, Hip And Groin?
Hello, 2-3 days ago I felt a stinging on my upper right front thigh. I found nothing, thinking I had been bitten, I let it go. I have felt the same thing in the same general area several times since then, but find nothing. Yesterday, this area started going numb, now the numbness is from my mid front thigh to my hip area. I am also having pain in my groin area today, and now it seems worse. What should I do??
This refers to abnormal function of the nerves, there can be different possible causes such as: (a) trauma to the nerves - this would be the nerves in the lower back or hip region (b)diabetes (c)liver or kidney disease (d)infections such as shingles (e)neurological conditions such as stroke or ms (f)side effect of medication (g)exposure to toxins (h)idiopathic-cause not known
It is possible that the changes are temporary.
You may want to see your doctor for assessment to determine the possible cause. This would involve history, examination and possible investigations.
I hope this helps
