What Causes Recurring Stomach Cramps With Puss Filled Anal Discharge?

I had severe stomach cramps for over a week. They gradually became worse until on day I thought I had to pass gas and puss (bad odor) came out. After that it happened again 2 times then the pain was gone. Did I have some type of infection in my intestines?
