The left side of my tonsils have been swollen for a month. It will go dowb them flame back up. It doesnt hurt and no lumps. Im only 23 i was smoking for a year and i just stopped. Too scared to go to the doctor because i dont want them to tell me its something life threatening.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of v recurring tonsil swelling which is because of upper respiratory tract infection/granular pharyngitis. Swelling of tonsils is because of tonsillitis. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should take antibiotics along with decongestants. You should avoid hot, sharp and spicy foods. You should take expectorants. You should get blood test , throat swab test done. Steam inhalation is very effective for throat infection. You should take anti inflammatory medication as well. Avoid cold carbonated beverages. You should avoid smoking. Take diet rich in multivitamins.
