What Causes Recurring Typhoid With Constipation And Cramps?

From last 4 years, i am suffering from typhi O and paratyphi AH- with ratio i.e. 1:80, 1:60 typhoid without fever in every 2 months after taken 5 to 14 days antibiotic tab treatment. During the typhoid period i am suffering stomach problem with constipation and cramps. Subodh Kumar , Sub Editor in govt. department in Mumbai, india

Hello,

The results posted by you are that of Widal test. It seems that typhoid is endemic in your area leading to titres up to 1:160. Rising titres in Widal are suggestive of typhoid. Antibiotic treatment can lead to suppression of antibody response.

I suggest you to get salmonella typhi Ig M to diagnose typhoid. Recurrent stomach aches can be due to repeated gastrointestinal tract infection. The drinking water needs to be boiled before consuming to avoid intake of contaminated water.
