What Causes Recurring Vertigo With Tight Shoulder And Back?

I am experiencing an increased occurrence of vertigo and ALWAYS accompanied beforehand by extremely tight shoulder and lower back muscles. Could this be anything OTHER THAN stress induced? I have an appointment with my doctor tommorow morning but thought I d ask this beforehand.
